About the Role
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment across the plant. The position focuses on maximizing equipment availability, reducing downtime through preventive maintenance, and ensuring all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently.
Working closely with maintenance teams, the successful candidate will support continuous plant operations by maintaining critical electrical infrastructure and implementing engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will coordinate daily maintenance activities, assign technical tasks to team members, and provide guidance to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. The role includes overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment while ensuring compliance with company safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities also include servicing and maintaining electrical systems such as circuit breakers, transformers, motor control centers (MCC), power control centers (PCC), medium- and low-voltage switchboards, battery chargers, plant lighting and earthing systems, high- and low-voltage motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical cables, and cable terminations.
In addition, the Electrical Engineer will execute work orders on time, prepare maintenance reports and equipment histories, update maintenance information in SAP, coordinate spare parts requirements, prepare purchase requisitions and maintenance notifications, train junior team members, and perform other engineering duties assigned by senior management.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Candidates must have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant working experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably involving heavy plant operations.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems, including transformers, substations, switchboards, motors, generators, battery charging systems, plant lighting, earthing systems, electrical measuring instruments, and cable installations.
Applicants should also demonstrate a good understanding of engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, preventive maintenance practices, and SAP maintenance systems. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, teamwork, communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential for success in this role.
